There are a hundred ways to cook hotdogs. There are even more ways to make your typical hotdog sandwich into gourmet food (love Top Chef). But, I'm not going to talk about something as complicated as that. This way of cooking hotdogs is the best for me.I want my hotdogs BOILED.
Yes, my friend, BOILED. Water at 100 °C and hotdogs.
Some might think that boiling hotdogs will make them lose their flavor or taste. That was my initial thought but I was wrong.
Boiling hotdogs is the best way for me to cook them because you won't be using oil and you won't have to worry about the hotdogs being overcooked or burnt.
If you have kids, for sure, hotdogs have been a part of your meals, especially for breakfast. My kumare, Badeth, learned about this way of cooking hotdogs from me and she's been boiling them ever since for her 2 kids. Less oil, less fat, less cholesterol, well, for everyone.
How to do it? It's simple.#1: Remove the hotdogs' plastic wrappers, of course. NO NEED to wash them.
#2: You can use a saucepan and just a small amount of water enough to sink the hotdogs.
I prefer using mineral water but, hey, it's going to boil anyway.
#3: Then, just let it boil until the color is pale red or pinkish. That should only take about 3-5 minutes.
If you haven't tried boiling your hotdogs yet, then, TRY IT!
Argh. Now, I'm officially hungry.
