How Powerful Blogging Is & Updates on our PLDT Application in Cebu

I didn't really know how powerful blogging is until today.

My previous post about our bad customer experience with PLDT Cebu reached higher management.

I know I was a bit harsh with the words I used to describe or to refer to Juvy but can you really blame me? I was extremely upset because I was mainly the one insisting to get a PLDT myDSL account instead of signing up with Globelines. I'm not gonna apologize for whatever I said in that post because how I described the incompetence we experienced was not understated.

Okay, I take back the name-calling but I still feel frustrated with what happened. For him, this should be a lesson learned. I'm just glad that my post served its purpose... unintentionally - to make PLDT Cebu take action against incompetence and bad customer service from their end.

This experience made me realize how powerful blogging is these days. You might think that you're just venting out or talking about your personal life but you can influence people to take action or do something good... and sometimes bad.

PLDT is actually one of the companies here in the Philippines who look at what bloggers are saying about them. It's a very good way for them to get information about people who are working for their company. Those bloggers who talk about their service are customers who are either upset or elated with their service. The blogger community is a great source of information for companies so they'll know what needs to be fixed, who needs to be scolded (in my case, Juvy), or what their customers think they need to change so they can stay true to their commitment to quality service. Take a look at this article from GMA news online: Firms Now More Aware of Blogger Backlash

I have decided to take down my posts and all the details. All I can tell you now is our problem was resolved by a higher-up, Nilo Bantilan.

To everyone who had the same issues with Juvy Rosario in PLDT Cebu, I truly wish your problems will be resolved as soon as possible.

  1. Blogging is really powerful that you shouldn't even think of putting it on your resume. people are turned down in their job applications because they're bloggers. companies are afraid that if they hire bloggers, their dirt may end up on the world-wide web! haha

  2. For 3 days now I am unable to connect to the Internet. I called PLDT's repair service hotline 173 and all of their agents would tell me, "Sir, remote monitoring pa po!" Three freaking days and it's remote monitoring! I DO NOT NEED REMOTE MONITORING! I WANT SOMEONE TO COME TO MY HOUSE AND FIX THE PROBLEM! It definitely is not my computer! Because when I took it to a friend's house and connected it to his internet line it was all fine! SO PLEASE PLDT! FIX THIS ASAP!

  3. Well, you are really fortunate to sticking with pldt. Globelines is far worse. Applying for the internet connection and actually getting it is really fast with globe, but after that is the problem. I think NTC has to really step in. Globelines keeps marketing their internet connection packages, but they cant handle the load. Their service is absolutely ridiculous.

  4. I completely agree with you, art. We had Globelines DSL @ home and we never had decent connection. I had really good experience with PLDT's DSL service so I stuck with them. We even had a Bayantel DSL account back in Manila and after a few months, the service dwindled.

There have been lots of complaints against Globelines but nothing has been done by NTC. Only Senators can make them take action, I guess. hehehe.

  5. Hello to everybody!

Just want to ask and get the contact number of Mr. Nilo Bantilan, head of Vismin - Business head, PLDT SME group. I also applied for i-Gate service (leased line) for almost a month ago with our account officer Mr. Juvy Mark P. Rosario, I'm afraid that he might do it also on us, because since we submitted all the requirements for the said service this Mr. Juvy hasn't call us for an update of our application.

Hope that the blogger would give us the contact number of Mr. Nilo Bantilan, so that we could directly follow up on him regarding our application.

Thanks in advance and More POWER!
