PLDT Cebu Sucks! Beware of Juvy Rosario!

Be careful what you wish for 'coz you might just get it. Read my update to this post:
How Powerful Blogging Is & Updates on our PLDT Application in Cebu.

I have decided to take down my post about my experience with PLDT in Cebu since it happened over 2 years ago.

I'm still getting feedback / comments from other PLDT customers in Cebu about Juvy lying to them. I just hope PLDT Cebu does something about it.

  2. Have you signed up with Globelines na ba? Check their service as well because their connection in Liloan s*ck big time!

I dunno, it may just because of the location but Globelines doesn't have a good connection as well based on my experience. Our office internet is like the internet speed of the 1990's! Imagine a download speed of 5.6 kbs! Seriously =)

  3. Yeah, that's what I've heard about Globelines. We used to have a Globelines DSL connection at home but we decided to switch to Smart Bro 'coz of poor connection even after numerous complaints.

We're really crossing our fingers that our internet connection would not be that slow as that's gonna be one of the major foundations of our business. We really don't have a choice 'coz there are no other DSL lines available here but Globelines.

In Manila, PLDT's service is good but here in Cebu, they suck big time.

Anyway, your connection might also be affected by too many users in your area. We're subscribed to the 5MBps business plan so that should be fast. Let's just see what's gonna happen... and I'm still crossing my fingers.

Jeff, there are no other ISP in your area? If your office is subscribed to a 2MBps or higher plan, then, your download speed should be higher. But, then again it depends on what you're downloading. :)

  4. My Fiance lives in Cebu City, her DSL runs not much better than dial-up even after we had her upgraded. now her DSL is down most of the time and when she calls customer service it is like they read what they are going to say from a que card, it will be up in 2 to 4 hours. that was over 12 hours ago. She works online and has lost numerous employers due to the bad service from PLDT. I pay her internet for her since it is not on long enough for her to even do her work. Come Monday they are installing Wireless in her home from smart bro. and if this continues , I will get her the usb wireless and do away with PLDT all together. her home phone works only 1 to 2 days a week and they turned it off and sent her a notice they would turn her Internet off by 05:00pm Friday if she did not pay her bill, she called them and they claimed she owed 2 months and then they told her it was their mistake but she had to pay by the deadline and pay a reconnect fee since there was no supervisor there. we now keep up with all the time her internet is down and most months it is down as much as 20 days total. They say they are innovators, of what poor service? We will be married next year and her and our son will come here to the states but I feel for the ones there that has to deal with PLDT. I tried to contact the Management of that Micky Mouse outfit and ask him what the problem is there that they can't give the people the service they deserve, my DSL here cost less than hers, and my Dsl has been down for 1 hour in 9 years. I do not know how people are expected to survive with all the Brown outs and The PLDT service, especiall buisness people like you that depend on the service of other sectors there. i ahve a lot of friends here that are Filipino and they also complain about service there in Cebu. I have been there many times and one time there was no service there in Lahug for 2 weeks straight. PLDT is one of the worst Buisness partners you can have, they said everything was going to be a lot better becasue they put new servers online, but you have to have a connection to those servers. I am from Jamie from Lincolnton NC also and we have been together for almost a year and we have had this problem ever since we have known each other and it has not gotten any better even after the upgrade and when we had it upgraded they disconnected her, andother PLDT mistake.

  5. Hi Mhel... thanks for sharing... you may not know me coz I'm from Manila but we have (had?) the same problem.

Mine's worst. We applied first week of April and no words from them about our application. Only when my wife followed up after a month did we learn that our application(s) went from being "natabunan" to the contact person going AWOL to application not received because their fax machine did not have a toner(!)[%$#@!]

We were given an account number around May 23 or May 24 and was advised to just wait for the S/O.

Made a couple dozens of calls since then (to the SME, 171, 177 [there are more reasons to this which I won't expound]) but until now, those agents say the same things: waiting for S/O and we will follow-up and expedite blah blahs.

I'm now paying for the 3rd month of my rental without a business.

(For the benefit of PLDT reading your post, Account Number is 0206888717. I will not do namedropping for now but our SME contact has intials C.M.. Phone number is (02)6660165

I used to write a blog at wordpress. It is still there active. I plan to write the full story soon also. I'm just full of rants right now and may not be as objective as I want to be (who wants to be objective with this kind of situation anyway :-)

Good luck there in Cebu... I'll take two weeks of waiting anytime.

Oh, and we haven't got a phone installed yet, lest you forget. I heard it takes some more waiting after installation of the phone for the DSL to be connected.

    I'll keep you posted. Thanks.

  6. @ James and last poster:
I'm sorry to hear what you experienced with PLDT. There are a lot of PLDT employees that need to be micro-managed 'coz they're affecting the whole company's image.

I've heard a lot of complaints against PLDT but I still continued with them 'coz like what I said in my post, they're the lesser evil. Globelines have their own flaws. Even Bayantel. The only thing that made me go with PLDT is the stability of the connection, which we're getting 85-90% of the time. With Globelines, I even doubt we'll hit 80%.

    @Last poster:
I hope they also get to read your comments so they'll know what happened to you. I'll try to send an email to Nilo and maybe he can help you with your problem. 3 months of waiting? Can't believe you were that patient with them. Even with your comment, you were still holding back.
I'd like to hear from you if there'll be any updates.
