Happy 4th Year Anniversary, Mahal koh!

Mai and I will be celebrating our 4th year anniversary tomorrow, September 15th. I made this scrap page for her.

I'm writing this blog while she's downstairs preparing our dinner. She's cooking buttered chicken and gnocchi for me and the whole family here in Cebu.

I also just made that scrappage for her while she's downstairs. I pretended that I was designing something else for a friend 'coz I want this all to be a surprise. And I'm kinda nervous that she'd see me doing this so I prepared a separate Photoshop file for that other project so I can simply switch to it when I hear Mai coming.

We went on a semi-date earlier. We're kinda saving up for our vacation in Manila in October so we didn't really dine anywhere fancy (Lindon, is that you?!). We just bought butter and pepper after we had lunch at KFC. (Uh-oh, she's coming!)

Continuation: She's done with the gnocchi dish she made for us and I already showed her what I did but she wanted to read it later 'coz she's worried that whatever she's frying would get burnt. Talk about ruining a good surprise. Ugh. Anyway, I understand.

Now that we're always together, like 99% of the time, it's hard for us to surprise each other. Back when we were still working, we both had time to come up with something to surprise each other on birthdays, anniversaries and even monthsaries! Now, we have to be really sneaky to surprise each other. Well, I'm better at being sneaky 'coz she can't pretend or act normally when she's got a surprise all worked up in her head. That's how honest she is. I can't really say I love that side of her but I know that there's really no second-guessing when it comes to her and her personality. But, she managed to surprise me in more ways than one.

- She gave me a lot of flowers already. I remember when she brought me flowers at work for our anniversary (can still remember my agents' reaction when she did that and I was blushing). I don't really like flowers but she's the only one who didn't care 'coz she knows I'd still feel special and "gurly" when I receive them.

- She cooks food for me. Yes, it still surprises me 'coz I know how much love she puts into everything she cooks.

- This year's Valentine's day, she asked her colleagues to give me heart-shaped balloons with a romantic message from her. I was in training with other Team Leaders at Teletech when she did that. Good thing our trainer was also in the mood for romance so he allowed me to receive the balloons. They were all jealous and I was so proud that I got someone as sweet as her as my life partner.

I'm not a mushy, love-struck girlfriend. I never was sweet or romantic towards my exes 'coz I didn't really think it's that necessary. Plus, I so got used to being pampered by my exes without me giving them any affection back so I didn't care that much. But Mai was the only one who made me change that cold-hearted side of me 'coz I saw all the effort she puts into making me feel special. Alright, in the past months and weeks, we've had some rough times but I can see that she's trying hard to make things better for us and for me to feel special.

And this blog post is dedicated to her - my life partner, the love of my life - Mai.
