Have a Blessed New Year!

New-Year-2009I got less than 19 hours 'til 2009 ends and I'm sitting here pondering on what just transpired a few hours ago. It seems that Lady Luck won't be giving me a break 'til the last hours of 2009.

What am I looking forward to this 2010? I can't answer that question just yet. There's a lot going on in my head right now that I can't even come up with a decent New Year's resolution.

Ugh. Forget about it. New Year's resolutions are made to be broken, anyway. Right? Or is it just me?

Anyway, I'm not trying to bum you out now that the New Year is coming up. I just want to express that the end of 2009 is not as good as I was expecting it to be. At least for me. Well, I shouldn't be surprised since nothing really good has happened to me the entire year.

But, hey, I'm still thankful I'm alive. I know I'm still blessed and I know things happen for a reason. I just felt like I've had a lot of things going against me this 2009 and I'm just thankful that I'm about to face a new year.

So, before I end this post, I would like to greet EVERYONE a Happy and Sparkling New Year!

I hope 2010 would be a BETTER year for all of us.

Care to share your New Year's resolutions with me?!

C'mon, humor me. I need it... badly.

Too Many Fake / Scam Emails Promising Money on my Inbox

ScamAlerts

I have been getting a lot of spam scam emails lately telling me that they have entrusted me with huge amounts of money, millions of dollars, and they wanted to do it under the table, if you know what I mean. They're asking me to respond so they can give me further details.

I can't believe that there are a lot of douchebags out there who would try to victimize people. I'm not sure exactly what's going to happen if I respond to any of the emails but I know they're just trying to get my bank account details or steal my identity.

Here's the contents of one of the spam and hoax emails I've been getting:

Greetings From Mr Adamou,
Dear Friend,
For your kind attention. I will be very glad if you do assist me to relocate this sum of ( US$10.2M ) to your account for the benefit of our both families.
This is a genuine business, only i cannot operate it alone without using a Foreigner who will stand as a beneficiary to the money, that is why i decided to contact you in a good manner to assist me and also to share the benefit together with me.
By indicating your interest I will send you the full details on how the business will be executed.
Please keep this proposal as a top secret and delete it, if you are not interested.
Regards,
Mr. Adamou.

Like, really?! You'd entrust that $10.2M to a total stranger? LOLz It's really funny.

But, the fact is, I know there are hundreds of people who have fallen victims to these con artists or scammers. Call it naivety, stupidity, desperation or plain greed but I still pity them. I know that in this modern day where people make money online and have online access to their bank accounts, there are still people who'd fall prey to these scammers.

I hope this would serve as a warning for those who have received similar emails that all these emails are HOAXES, FAKES, SCAMS. Do not fall for them. Do not even try to be curious. No one in his RIGHT mind would entrust you with a huge amount of money.

Here are a few more of these scam emails I got:

(PLEASE TREAT AS URGENT I NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE AND TRUST PLEASE)

From Mr. Rufai Garba
the director of account/audit
department in the Bank of Africa a

Ouagadougou Burkina Faso, West Africa.

Dear Friend,

I am writing to seek your cooperation over this business, Please due welcome this letter.

I am Mr. Rufai Garba, I got your contact from a Yahoo Tourist Search When I was searching for a foreign partner. I assured of your capability and reliability to champion this business opportunity when I prayed to the Almighty about you.

In my department we discovered an abandoned sum of $22,000.000.00 million US Dollars (Twenty two million US Dollars) in an account that belongs to one of our foreign customer Mr. Alan Williams, A British National who died along with his entire family in (20 Oct 2005) in a plane crash. As followed in this link

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/tanzania
/1501084/Tycoon-dies-with-family-in-Tanzania-safari-plane-crash.html

Since I got the information about his death, we have been expecting his next of kin to come over and claim his money because we cannot release it unless somebody applies for it as next of kin or relation to the deceased as indicated in our banking guidelines but unfortunately we learnt that all his supposed next of kin relation died alongside with him at the plane crash leaving nobody behind for the claim.

It is therefore upon this discovery that I now decided to make this business proposal to you and release the money to you as the next of kin or relation to the deceased for safety and subsequent disbursement since nobody is coming for it and we don't want this money to go into the bank treasury as unclaimed bill. The Banking law and guideline here stipulates that if such money remained unclaimed after five years, the money will be transferred into the Bank treasury as unclaimed fund.

The request of foreigner as next of kin in this business is occasioned by the fact that the customer was a foreigner and I cannot stand as next of kin to a foreigner since I am from this country. I agree to offer you 45% of the total sum as foreign partner in respect to the provision of an account, 55% will be for me while we both will take care of the expenses incur during process of the transfer.

There after I will visit your country for disbursement according to the percentages indicated. Therefore to enable the immediate transfer of this fund to you as arranged, you must apply first to the bank as relations or next of kin of the deceased indicating your bank name, your bank account number, your private telephone and fax number for easy and effective communication and location where the money will be remitted.

Upon receipt of your reply, I will send to you by email the text of the application which you fill and send to our bank. I will not fail to bring to your notice that this transaction is hitch free and that you should not entertain any atom of fear as all required arrangements have been made for the transfer. You have to keep everything secret as to enable the transfer to move very smoothly into the account you will provide to the bank. Don't hesitate to furnish me with your private telephone for easy and effective communication. may God help you to help me to a restive

retirement, Amen Also send me your personal information as followed

(1) Your full names.........................
(2) Your age and occupation............
(3) Your nationality....................
(4) Your private telephones for easy communication...............

Thanks and God bless.

Mr. Rufai Garba

This one claims that they have their hands on $100M and directs the email recipients to a "related" news on BBC UK's website. Again, DON'T FALL FOR IT. (Pardon the CAPS. I also truncated the email because it's too long)

2nd Best Picture:
I Love You, Goodbye - Star Cinema

Best Picture:
Ang Panday - GMA Films / Imus Productions

I was shocked to learn that Bong Revilla and Phillip Salvador won the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor awards this year. I would've loved to see Gabby Concepcion winning Best Actor but I guess I Love You, Goodbye 's story wasn't strong enough to bag that award.

I haven't seen Ang Panday and Mano Po 6 so I can't really tell if Bong really did a good job here but I don't really like him as an actor, even as a politician. I don't like him at all. So, I guess I'm a bit biased but I sure wish Gabby received that award over him.

I want to congratulate Sharon Cuneta for winning her first Metro Manila Film Festival Best Actress award. I knew Mano Po 6 would be full of drama so I was kinda expecting that she'd win. But, Heart winning the Best Supporting Actress award was something else. I guess I really have to see the movie first before I judge.

I haven't really watched any Mano Po movies in the past. But, I haven't really watched a lot of Tagalog movies in the past years. I only get to watch some of them because of my partner Mai and my nanay. I prefer watching movies at home where I can pause the movie whenever I want to. LOLz.

The only MMFF entry I've already watched is I Love You, Goodbye. And, I wasn't completely happy with the movie but that's for another blog post. It was just okay for me. At least they won 2nd Best Picture.

I guess it's Ang Panday's year. They are on top of the box office and now, they bagged more than half of the awards at the MMFF awards. I know this would help boost their ticket sales more but it won't really affect how I feel towards its lead actor, Bong Revilla.

Hayden Kho, Katrina Halili - Scandal in 2009

I know that a lot of Pinoys have seen the video sex scandals of Hayden Kho with Katrina Halili and Maricar Reyes. I admit that I've seen them myself on various video sites on the web during the peak of this scandal. It was a shock but the ending was quite humorous for me.

First off, if you're here still looking for the Hayden Kho sex scandal videos, leave a comment on this post with your email address and I'll send you the link to the videos that are still up on the web.

HaydenKho1 I am glad that Hayden Kho's PRC license was revoked. What he did to the women in his sex scandal videos shows that he doesn't respect women and he doesn't respect PRIVACY, which is one of the things that is very important in a doctor-patient relationship. And he really needs help. Considering that he was a licensed doctor and a professional but was still able to do this kind of disrespect towards women, including Maricar Reyes who was his official girlfriend at the time their sex videos were recorded, shows that he's a little loony, right? He's deeply troubled. He needs to get psychiatric help to get him thinking straight again. I know testosterone is a part of the reason why he exposed these videos but his actions afterwards and after Katrina Halili filed a case against him shows that there's something really wrong with Hayden's brain cells.

KatrinaHalili Now, I want to talk about how Katrina Halili reacted towards the scandals. I think that it was right when she filed a case against Hayden Kho for exposing those sex videos. He should pay for his actions. But, I kinda feel sorry for Katrina because in the sex videos, she looked like she let herself be Hayden's bitch. Sorry but she didn't seem to be enjoying herself in those videos. She wasn't in control and she looked like she was being used by Hayden. I guess this is the reason why the scandals didn't help her career.

MaricarReyesOn that note, I am so proud of how Maricar Reyes carried herself throughout this scandal. She refused to talk about it. She refused to say anything about Hayden. But, as you can see now, her showbiz career is sky-rocketing. Why? I believe it was because she showed how strong of a woman she is. She was in control in those videos (if you know what I mean) and didn't look like she's just being used sexually by Hayden, but seemed like it's the other way around. LOLz. She didn't let the scandal ruin her life but she used it to propel her to success in showbiz. And I'm so glad that the scandal was a blessing in disguise and helped her with her career because she is a very talented actress. I extremely liked her role in Lovers in Paris with Piolo Pascual and KC Concepcion.

Okay, now, if you've read 'til the end of this post, let me tell you that I'm kidding when I said I know where to find the sex scandal videos of Hayden Kho. I just wanted to know how many people would not completely read this post and comment away because of "curiosity". I wanted to know how many people are still interested in seeing those videos. For the record, I don't know of any place where you can view the sex scandals of Hayden Kho, Katrina Halili and Maricar Reyes.

Make Money Online through LinkFromBlog

I love blogging and sharing my experiences and knowledge through it. I've tried different ways of making money online through my blogs and one of them is through paid reviews, which is my top paying online money-making program to-date. And, although I am getting paid for some posts, I made sure that it doesn't affect the quality of my contents here. I only write about things that really interests me.

This week, I have decided to join LinkFromBlog because of the rave reviews I've been reading about it from fellow bloggers who have made money from them. I haven't really started getting paid through them or writing posts for them but I hope that after my account has been activated, I'll be one of the thousands of bloggers who have made money through LinkFromBlog.

Also, not only can you earn money online from LinkFromBlog but you can also use their service to advertise or promote your product, website or blog. You can buy blog reviews from them, too, for more effective promotion or online marketing of your products, website or blog.

Advertise with my Blog

Globe in Cebu is Down after Christmas 2009?!

GlobeTelecomLogo My partner Mai is in Cebu and she's complaining of not receiving any text messages from me. We're both Globe Telecom subscribers and I'm having no issues with receiving and sending text messages here in Manila.

I have been searching all over the web for an explanation but it seems that no other bloggers have posted anything about this yet. Or maybe they haven't been indexed yet or something.

I sent a tweet to Globe (talk2Globe) on Twitter. I checked their recent tweets and they haven't announced any official update on what's wrong with Globe in Cebu. I hope they can send me a reply so I'll know what's wrong. This has been extremely frustrating since Mai and I communicate most of the time through text messaging because she's too far away.

On another story, Abe of Yugatech already sent me my prize for his Merry Tweetmas Great Gadget Giveaway. I was one of the winners of Php 500 worth of Globe prepaid load. Here's a photo of the digital Globe prepaid card he sent me.

I can't wait for Round 2 of his Holiday giveaway. I hope I'll win again. Thanks again, Abe!

Eddie Murphy's Dead! OMG!

As soon as I saw a tweet about this from one of the Tweeps (Twitter peeps, get it?), I immediately scoured the web for more information. This can't be true!! Eddie Murphy cannot be dead... right?

I found this article from HardCasual:

Eddie Murphy, 47, star of stand-up comedy and film, was killed this morning in an accident on the set of the film adaptation of the video game Left 4 Dead, currently filming in Los Angeles, CA.

The cause of death appears to have been a special effects mishap. Murphy, playing the role of Louis in the fast-tracked adaptation, was struck by a massive concrete slab and thrown from a helicopter in the film’s penultimate scene. Paramedics arrived on the scene immediately, but were unable to revive him, as first aid on the scene consisted entirely of large rolls of bandages....

eddie_murphyI didn't read any other article but I know that this can't be true. So, I went back to Google and found other blog posts and articles that Eddie Murphy is NOT dead. It was just another fake celebrity death that has been circling the web for over a year now.

*Phew* I don't completely like his brand of comedy but I like most of his movies. So, I'm kinda relieved that the news wasn't true. And it's funny because that tweet came from a humor blogger who I absolutely love. How gullible can I be, you might ask. LOLz I'm not usually like this. Thank God for Google!

After clearing that Eddie Murphy is dead crap, I was curious about the Left 4 Dead movie. I checked IMDB and found 2 entries but they weren't popular movies. I love the game so watching a movie based off of it would be great. But, the ones on IMDB seem to not have been shown anywhere else but in the western countries.

I hope there'll be an official, all-star Left 4 Dead movie based on the game. I'd love to see it!

My First Google Adsense Withdrawal!

No, I haven't withdrawn my money yet. I am just pretty excited because I'm very close to withdrawing my first $100 Google Adsense earnings. It took me over a year to earn the minimum of $100 but I'm psyched that I'm getting closer to that amount. I am hoping to earn that much before the end of January next year. I'm crossing my fingers!
Western Union LogoI have selected the option to withdraw or pick up my Google Adsense earnings through Western Union Quick Cash. This way, I can get my money faster and more conveniently.
I'll post an update here once I've reached $100 and once I've withdrawn it from Western Union.
I'm hoping to make more money online through Google Adsense in the near future. Wish me luck!

Survivor Samoa Winner is not Russell

SurvivorSamoaLogoAnd that freaking sucks!! I've never been this upset with the result of Survivor. Even after Amber won over Rob a few seasons ago, I've never been this furious about knowing that my favorite Survivor didn't win.

Yes, all of you Survivor fanatics like me, Russell Hantz, the best strategic Survivor castaway ever, did not win Survivor Samoa. His ally since the start of the season, Natalie White, won.

Alright, in fairness to Natalie, she was responsible for voting out the first Galu member Erik after the merge. I believe that this move helped in getting Shambo on their side as they only have 4 Foa Foa members left. Don't get me wrong, I like Natalie but I believe that Russell is the only one worthy of the title of Sole Survivor this season.

RussellNatalieYes, Russell was obnoxious, sneaky, arrogant and all that but he was the best strategic player in the game. Heck, he was the only one playing the game almost 24x7! I don't believe he's as mean as he was during interviews. I know he's just playing the game because I've seen his soft side a couple of times so I don't understand completely why the jury didn't want to give him the win.

Come to think of it, I think the reason why he lost the jury votes was his mistake of telling Mick that he's a multi-millionaire. Tsk. When I watched that, I was like.... WTF?! That was the only mistake he made the entire game that I believe cost him the win. I guess his arrogance got the better of him, hehehe.

Survivor Samoa is the BEST season of Survivor EVER! This was the only season that really excited me. Thanks to Russell Hantz for keeping Survivor Samoa as interesting and fun to watch. I love him!

I hope that in the next installments of Survivor, the castaways who'll be in the jury can set aside their feelings and really contemplate on who deserves the win and vote for the person who REALLY and ACTUALLY outwitted and outplayed them, and not the one who didn't hurt their feelings. Sheesh.

Speaking of the next season of Survivor Heroes vs Villains, I can't wait to find out who among the past Survivor castaways will be joining this all-star Survivor season. I don't think it'll be okay to invite Russell Hantz back to Survivor Heroes vs Villains UNLESS it's being filmed while Survivor Samoa is still being aired. This way, the contestants don't know how far Russell got and what he did to bring the Foa Foa 4 to the finale.

New Design for the New Year!

I finally finished the new design of this blog. I got tired of the old one and I've been trying to come up with a new design but procrastination got the better of me. But, since the New Year is coming up, I decided to finally finish the new design.

Here's a screenshot of the old design:
OldJustAnotherPixelLayout

See, there weren't really that many changes made on the layout. The sidebar was moved to the left and there's a new header, this time, with no more photos of my loved ones. Why? I'll explain that a li'l later.

Anyway, I feel so happy even though this is a very simple layout. I love how it turned out! Simple but slick. Mysterious. Black but with hints of colors here and there. I feel like this new layout makes my blog more appealing and organized.

Alright, before I end this post, I'll explain why I got inspired to change JustAnotherPixel.net's design. Charlie Gavin of Silver Age Online website, who used to own blankpixels.com gave me the domain for FREE! Yes, it's an early Christmas gift and I would like to officially thank him on this post. When he gave it to me, it's still paid up 'til November 2010. So...

Charlie, thank you so much for the domain! God bless! :)

We "met" when he read my post about me ranting about how I thought my web designer name is unique. He, then, posted a reply and that was it. He decided to give me the domain since he no longer uses it. Of course, I happily accepted.

I already transferred the domain to my registrar and I'm currently working on the layout of that blog. Blankpixels.com will be my official personal blog - meaning I will talk more about myself, my family, my relationship with my life partner Mai, my friendships and all the drama in my head and life. I've decided to keep JustAnotherPixel.net as my blog on the latest news or updates around the globe (weird, fun and serious) that I know a lot of people would be interested in.

I hope you visit my other blogs, too. Links are on top. And thank you for visiting this blog.
