I've never been an adventurous gal. I guess it's because I've always have this paranoia that bad things will happen if I'm not too careful. This obsessive-compulsive behavior might have paid off in a way because I've never been in a dangerous situation that could seriously hurt me. However, my self-over-protectiveness (something I made up) has hindered me in doing things that were really fun, challenging and would test my courage and guts.
One of the things that I want to do (sort of part of my bucket list) is go on skiing holidays with my family and my partner Mai. I've watched people ski in movies, sports and Discovery channels and they all seem to be having the time of their lives! Playing in and with snow looks like a lot of fun for me, well, since it doesn't snow here in the Philippines. The only thing close to snow that I've touched are the ice sculptures and artificial snow at Snow World in Star City. LOL
I've always envied my cousins and friends in the US and Europe whenever they post photos of them skiing or playing with snow. One of them was actually scared of heights, and I was shocked that she even tried to ski. She said it was the coolest thing she's ever done and she would love to hit the slopes again if given the chance. I want to try it, but I'm afraid of the dangers of skiing like falling face down or breaking a bone or two. Ack. Just thinking about it scares me.
But, really. I want to try it. I hope I'll get a chance to go skiing someday. My cousin already invited us to visit her in the US and my mom's thinking about it. If I'm really going to try skiing, I need to be prepared... emotionally and mentally because I might just faint before I even put on my ski boots. Hahaha.
The only thing scary that I've done my entire life was riding The Surf Dance over at Star City (image above). That's how lame and paranoid I am when it comes to adventures. But, I really want to try to do something that will test my limits. Nothing death-defying, but something I'll get a kick out off. Any suggestions!?
