Official List of Candidates for Party List for May 2010 Elections

If you are one of the few people who don’t know what Party lists are for, you are not alone and it’s okay. A lot of voters in our country still don’t know what the party lists are for. Some just vote to make sure nothing’s left blank on their ballots. So, let me tell you what they’re for and why it’s important that you also do your research on which party list you’re going to vote for.

The party-list system was implemented so that marginalized groups of people would have the chance to be represented in the Congress. Party lists are elected into office so they have representatives in the Congress. This means that the party lists that would win would have their voices heard and they get to participate in Congress. It’s truly democracy in action, as described by Fernando Fajardo of Inquirer.net in this interesting article about the party-list system:  What is wrong with the party-list system?  – Fajardo also sheds some light on why most people who actually know about the party-list system skip that part of the ballot.

We have a diverse list of party lists here in the Philippines and most voters I’ve asked have said that they only based their votes on the party lists’ names. That’s kinda ridiculous because it’s important to know who’s behind the party lists and who they’ll send to represent them in Congress once they win the elections. It’s also important to know what the party is really all about and what they have done before the elections so we’d know if they really mean to help or they’re just in it for the money or power.

There are TOO MANY party lists this May 2010 that I might end up not voting for any group/party. But, I’m still doing my research and I’m digging deep. I want my first vote to mean something. That’s how important this elections is for me.

So, here’s the official list of Party Lists from Comelec. We’ve got 187 in total. I’m only sure that I won’t be voting for 1 of the ones listed below – Ang Galing Pinoy – mainly because Mikey Arroyo is part of their group and he’d probably be their representative in Congress. Do I even have to tell you why I don’t like him?!

You’re not alone in not liking (did I say hating?)Mikee Arroyo. There’s many of us.

Party List to vote for in 2010? Go for AGHAM but don’t forget to vote for I-Café in 2013.:)

Thanks for the response. I’ll look into AGHAM.

And, of course, I’ll be supporting I-Cafe :)

I’m one of the few who will boycott the party list. Ginagawa lang silang instruments ng mga taong corrupt sa congress. Do they really represent their cause or are they representaTHIEVES in disguise? Pandagdag budget lang sila. Mas konting Party list, mas lesser expenses ng Pinas.

That’s actually what I’m thinking din about the party list, especially dahil dun ke Mikey Arroyo. But, I still need to continue my research kc I don’t want the corrupt parties to win. Kelangan ng mga TOTOO na party list yung boto ko, just like why I’m voting for Gordon and Bayani.

a lot of partylist candidates are there to support GMA in her bid to become prime minister. let us all be vigilant. Alamin natin kung sino mga nominees nila. Aside from AGP,sure na sure dyan ang BANTAY of Gen.Palparan. Another one of the same color is ALE. its first 2 nominees are very close to GMA. ang gagaling pa ng mga pangalan nila. pangmasa talaga.

a lot of partylist candidates are purportedly there to support a possible move to install GMA as prime minister. let us all be vigilant. Alamin natin kung sino mga nominees nila. baka close kay GMA Aside from AGP,andyan ang BANTAY of Gen.Palparan, na sinasabing kakampi ni GMA. Another one that may be of the same color is ALE. i’ve heard that its first 2 nominees are close to GMA. ang gagaling pa ng mga pangalan nila. pangmasa talaga.

probably, i was thinking that, the perfect partylist and the most responsible would be the VENDORS partylist

WHY DO WE NEED THIS PARTY LIST?
THIS IS JUST A WASTE OF TAXPAYERS MONEY.
NO NEED OF PARTY LIST BECAUSE THIS WILL BE ANOTHER CORRUPT OFFICIALS ADDED INTO A BUNCH OF CORRUPT PUBLIC OFFICIALS.
I AM SORRY TO SAY THIS BUT I AM JUST BEING REALISTIC AND HONEST IN MY OPINION.
