Enjoying my Nokia 5230 prize

If you've been reading my blog posts in the past weeks, you'd know I won a Nokia 5230 from DJ Mo Twister's blog and Twitter (@djmotwister) giveaway. I love the phone and it's been pretty useful to me because of our photo printing service. The bluetooth features of my laptop doesn't work as well (probably because I downgraded it from Vista to XP) as my phone's so I prefer customers sending them to my phone instead. I also got used to texting through the on-screen keyboard. Here's a photo of the phone:

As soon as I got it, I couldn't wait to shop for cell phone cases and housing for my new phone. I actually wasn't planning on something expensive, but we were already at SM Annex in North Edsa so we bought this leather housing for Php 300 (about $4.00). I know, I could've bought this for half the price if I wasn't too excited and too paranoid about the touch screen! *LOL* Here's a closer look at my phone and the housing.

When my brother found out I bought my phone housing for that much, he wanted to kill me. He's thrifty and so he always looks for the best deals for everything. I'm actually frugal and a bit of a thrift, too, but I was too tired to go to Greenhills or even Victory Mall in Monumento.

My brother owns a Nokia E71. Our mom gave it to him as a gift for his graduation and for being on the Top 10 of those who passed their TCAP or final exams before they graduate. He couldn't find a phone casing for it even after scouring Greenhills and Grand Central. I showed him this Nokia E71 Black Rubberized faceplate and he really liked it! I still owe him $20 as my gift so I might buy it for him if we can request our cousin in Virginia, USA if she can receive it for us and bring it with her when she comes home to Manila next month.
