Last year, I blogged about discovering that I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) which resulted to the 6-month long absence of my monthly period. I've taken medications (tranexamic acid, contraceptive pills) and they worked. Now, though, I have to take the contraceptive pills to ensure that I get my period monthly.
Having PCOS really affected my health for the past 2 years. I'm not that energetic anymore. I used to withstand a whole day of strolling the mall. Now, whenever Mai and I go to the mall, I'd ask her if we can rest like every hour. Mai has noticed this, too, and she really wanted me to take some vitamins for women aside from the calcium and iron supplements I take daily.
I don't want to be like this everytime we go out. Mind over matter. I do my best to keep my energy up even when I feel really stressed or tired. I believe that I can control how I feel by making myself think I am full of energy and that nothing should bring me down. It's actually working and I'll continue this 'til I really feel much better.
With our plans in losing weight this 2010, I can see myself healthier before this year ends. I've also managed to lessen my craving for sweets, which usually serve as my temporary energy boosters. I don't want to depend on them anymore. That's why we'll start our Taebo exercises in June to help improve my stamina.
How do you keep your energy up? I know exercise can really help, but for now, the heat makes me weaker so I can't do any kind of exercise now.
