A year ago, I blogged about a remote management tool that I absolutely love. It was very useful back when I was still in Cebu because I got to help my brother fix his computer problems remotely. I even got to use it to help friends fix their software problems. All they needed was an internet connection and the remote management software, which was pretty easy to install. My friends even suggested that I can make money fixing other people's computers remotely. I might do that in the future, but for now, I'm happy helping people for free. :)
Now that we're here in Manila, I can still use that remote management tool. However, I need something more - an online service where I can do an online sync of our computers here in Manila and in Cebu so I can share files with Mai's family remotely. I need to share with them photos that we took during our Ocean Park visit when Mai's parents were here in Manila for a 5-day vacation. They wanted to get the high-resolution / unedited photos. Sending them through email's going to take a longer time because the total size of all the photos is about 1.5GB. I know, I took way too many photos of the fishes in Ocean Park. LOL.
I was searching online and I'm glad I found out about iDriveSync. They are offering 2GB for free. It's perfect for what I need. I can simply un-sync the files later on so I can use it to share other files once Mai's parents are done copying them. Plus, it's pretty easy to setup. You just have to download the iDriveSync desktop application and place the files in the iDriveSync Explorer folder. I'll write a more detailed guide next time, but for now, you can check out their FAQs and the demo.
The first 2GB is for free. If you need more, you can pay the $4.95 monthly fee for unlimited sync storage. You can sync up to 5 computers. Well, we'll only need to sync 4 computers so it's really just what I need.
