We Need a Car

Now that Mai and I are back here in Manila, there are a lot of things we miss about Cebu. There's the food (Cebu's chicken lechon, ngohiong, steamed rice at Harbour City, etc) and her Mama's home cooked dishes (humba, homemade siopao, etc). But, most of all, we miss the convenience of living in Cebu.

Mai's family has a car that we bring wherever we go. Mai knows how to drive so she's the designated driver when her father's out of the country. It's really convenient going to and from places in Cebu, especially because you barely experience heavy traffic there. And, it only takes you a couple of minutes to get to your destination.

When we came back here a few months ago, we had a bit of a hard time adjusting again to the traffic and the congestion of the major roads here in Metro Manila. We also had to get used to commuting again. Now, we prefer going to SM Mall of Asia because it's more convenient commuting from Malabon to MOA. We just need to take the LRT and ride one of the orange jeepneys/multi-cabs at LRT Taft/Edsa Station.

Bumper to bumper traffic in Edsa

In Cebu, we were planning to buy a multi-cab that Mai and I can call our own. We found a good deal and was really doing our best to save up for it. If you don't know how a multi-cab looks like, here's a photo I found online:Multi-Cab The one we're planning on buying was customized already and was a 4-seater.

We were actually thinking about buying a multi-cab here in Manila, but I don't feel safe and secure driving it on major roads, especially on Edsa. It's too small to drive around alongside buses and trucks on the highway. *LoL*

So, Mai and I are now planning on buying a bigger car. That's one of our major plans and what we're really saving up for. We're really hoping we can save up so that by next year, we can already pay for down-payment for our own car. Right now, we really don't have the money yet, even to buy Ferrari parts. But, this is what we're saving up for:Nissan UrvanThat's a Nissan Urvan. We're looking at buying an Escapade 12-seater, so that when Mai's family visits us here in Malabon, all the members of my family and hers can all go out together in one vehicle. That'll be a lot of fun. We also need a car for the next business we're opening up – a mini-diner. So, Mai and I are now doing our best to save up because we've got a lot of stuff on our to-buy list.

Have you and your life partner/husband/wife
purchased your own car already
?
Care to share with us your stories to inspire us?! We'd love to hear them! :)
