I'm An Insomniac – Are You?

Insomniac - JustAnotherPixel.net Yes, I admit, I am an insomniac. I've been like this since I was in high school. I usually would drink two to three glasses of milk just to try to force myself to feel sleepy. Most of the time, it won't work so I'd have to tire myself just so I would fall asleep.

I've never been a morning person because of my insomnia. I usually end up sleeping at around 4 to 5 in the morning. Imagine, I was still studying back then so I'd have to wake up at around 6am. Crazy, right? Well, it came in handy many times when I had to review for exams.

I've got a couple of friends who also suffer from insomnia. Some of them complain they're not as energetic as before. That they had to resort to taking sleeping pills just to get a dose of forty winks.

My insomnia also has affected my lifestyle in the past years. I've never been a really outdoorsy girl, but I love travelling. My insomnia has prevented me from enjoying our trips 'cause I'd be sleepless the whole night and would be too tired the next day. Grabeh, right?

I've got HUGE (okay, just exaggerating), dark eyebags because of my years of lack of enough sleep. Thank goodness I didn't suffer any chin acne, or breakouts because of my lack of sleep. But, I observed that I'm paler and my skin is a li'l dry than usual. So, I moisturize, moisturize, moisturize and I'm taking iron supplements too.

I know we need at least 8 hours of sleep, but I usually just end up with 3 to 4 hours of straight slumber. Well, I'm glad that for the past months, I've already worked on my insomnia. No, I don't drink milk or sleeping pills. I guess it's because of how busy I've been lately and so I end up tired as early as 12 midnight, especially these past weeks. I'm still trying to work on my new routine and schedule in my quest for better health. Wish me luck!
