What Christmas Tree?!

I've been seeing a  lot of people on Facebook sharing photos of their Christmas trees. I also watched the last episode of Glee where they were all singing while they were decorating the Christmas tree.

Where am I going with this post? Well, to be honest, I can't seem to share that feeling of togetherness when decorating the Christmas tree. Heck, we only got two weeks before Christmas and, for the first time, we haven't put up our Christmas tree yet. I guess I can say my family don't share the same feelings towards the Christmas tree.

Our Christmas tree - JustAnotherPixel.netJust take a look at our Christmas tree, pictured on the right. Yes, it's colorful. My mother managed to buy and collect Christmas tree decorations over the years, but we never decorated the tree together as a family. And, I don't get the same feeling everyone else seems to experience when they look at the Christmas tree.

We used to put up Christmas lighting fixtures all around our house, but now, no lights, no tree. I was about to ask my mother why, but she's already asleep.

I guess it's safe to say that we're just too busy to put up our Christmas tree or any colorful lights around our home. Besides, the tree has no sentimental effect on us. We're pretty happy just spending Christmas eve together and enjoying Noche Buena together.

You know what, I just realized that maybe, I'm the only one who's not really into the Christmas tree decorations. My mother was usually the one who'd start the decorating. Then, my brother would absolutely hate it and he'll do a tree makeover, just like what he did on that Christmas photo on the right. *LOL*

What I'm trying to say is the Christmas tree doesn't give me any holiday cheer. Yes, I enjoy the lights, but it's not a family thing for us. I love Christmas songs though.

How about you? How important to you is putting up a Christmas tree and decorating it with your family every year? Share your sentiments please. Maybe, you can change my mind. :)

P.S. I think, I'll have a different view on Christmas trees if they are true pine trees, just like most of the trees used in the US.
