Sleeping With the A/C On (Day 25 #100HappyDays)

If I’d be given a chance to move somewhere cold, where there’s snow, I’d take it. I’m generally not a summer person because here in the Philippines, it can get really hot, and turning on the A/C to cool you down will cause you thousands of pesos in additional expenses per month. The past 2 months, I’ve had an increase of Php 3,000-5,000 in our electricity bill.

I realized in the past week that I don’t care about the bill this month anymore. I need to sleep comfortably. So, I decided to turn on the A/C the whole time I was sleeping today and just set an alarm in the late afternoon when I know it’s a li’l colder. I woke up feeling well rested and ready to take on the world… or my tasks at work. 😀

Sleeping comfortably

This is what I’m gonna do again tomorrow until we get to our colder weather again in May hopefully. 🙂

Oh, I’m thinking of buying a split-type, inverter a/c unit, and selling off our current ones. It’s a bit costly, but at least I know I can turn on the a/c for a longer period of time without spending more than half of my salary to pay the electricity bill. 😀

Earning Through Blogging (Day 24 #100HappyDays)

I started blogging back in 2008 with this site, and now, I have a total of (*counts with fingers*) 8 blogs, 4 of which I actively update. When I started, I only wanted to write and didn’t think about earning money from my blogs, but when I decided to start my finance blog, it was when I realized the potential of making money through blogging.

Blogging

Fast forward to 2014, I earn a pretty decent amount from my blogs. They’re mostly advertisements placed by different companies (local and international). And for March, I earned enough to finance an upcoming vacation for my family of 3! Cool, eh? 😀

There are many perks when it comes to blogging, but it takes time to build authority, whether it’s through Pagerank or number of subscribers/readers. I’m just thankful and happy that I’m given a chance to earn extra money doing something I love. 🙂

How I Met Your Mother : I’ll Miss You! (Day 23 #100HappyDays)

After almost 3 years of watching the show (yes, I got to it 6 years late), I saw the last 2 episodes of one of my favorite series – How I Met Your Mother. I already miss the gang of Robin, Lily, Marshall, Barney and, of course, Ted Mosby. 🙂

How I Met Your Mother

SPOILER ALERT! If you don’t want to know what happened in the finale, don’t read any further. Stop right here! Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

I was crying almost the entire time I was watching the final episodes. Though the show wasn’t always brilliant (c’mon, even Friends had its ups and downs – and I LOVED that series!), it was one of my favorites because it’s lighthearted, the cast and characters are adorable (yes, even Barney!), and I can somehow relate to Ted Mosby. 🙂

I Love Videos of Pets and Other Animals (Day 22 #100HappyDays)

Okay, so I cheated in my #100HappyDays posts. Well, not completely. I have my daily posts all typed up on my phone as WordPress blog drafts, but since I wanted to add photos before publishing, it took me a few days to get them all up. I should be able to catch up on my entries again this week. I’ll just publish them right away and add the photos at a later time so I can keep up. 😉

If you’ve been reading this blog, you already know I love dogs and cats. But I actually like many animals, and if only I can show you the history of all the videos I’ve watched all these years, you’ll mostly see that the subjects were animals. Yes, I love watching them because I am amazed by these creatures, especially those that we can adopt and care for as pets. So imagine how my heart melted after watching the video below. I swear, I was smiling the whole time, and at times, even saying “Awwwww” and laughing out loud. 😀

Enjoy and feel free to share the video! 🙂

I Found My Ring! (Day 21 #100HappyDays)

I’m sure I’m not the only one who has experienced this – organizing your stuff and incidentally finding something you haven’t seen for the longest time. 😀 I was going through receipts and some documents to check which ones I can already toss out, and I found this….

Found my ring!
Ugh! I need a hand model 😀

My ring!! No, this is not an engagement or wedding ring, though many have mistaken it for that. I actually took it off because of that very reason, plus the fact that I have gained weight in the past 5 years and the ring, which used to expand and adjust to my ring finger’s size, doesn’t fit me comfortably anymore.

I’m not into jewelry, except for earrings. However, this is a very important ring for me because my mom gave it as a gift when I was in high school. We didn’t have much back then, so I truly valued this. I wanted to make sure I keep it somewhere it won’t get lost, but for some reason, I forgot where I placed it. I moved it around since I didn’t want to keep it in anything that I might throw away in the future. When I finally found the ring, I wore it for a few hours and I had to remove it again ’cause I couldn’t type properly. 😀

I promise to keep it safe and I’ll wear this again in a few months after I’ve lost weight. Woot!

Oooh, I’m loving my red and sparkly nail polish, by the way! My left leg though hurts like hell because of the lousy massage I got last night. Still, I’m in a good mood. 🙂
